Years 8 and 9
In Year 8 a second foreign language is introduced. Currently the second choice is Italian.
During Year 9 the students follow a careers guidance programme to prepare them for their option choices for Key Stage 4 courses. All students have the opportunity to take part in the Youth Award Scheme (YAS). This scheme sets students a series of challenges which develop their key skills. This course is validated by The University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES). Each student also has an individual options interview to which parents or carers are invited.
All Year 9 students are also involved in designing and creating products culminating in a mini enterprise sale in the summer.
