Uniform

All girls in Years 7 - 11 must wear school uniform. Skirts, jumpers, trousers, blazers and items of clothing for PE can be purchased from National Schoolwear Centres, - 51 High Street, Bromley, BR1 1LE.

All tights must be navy or black. Socks may be white or navy or black but not patterned. Footwear must be black or navy and sensible, i.e. no high heels or trainers. Boots may be worn during the second half of the Autumn Term and during the Spring Term. Sandals may be worn in the Summer Term (not backless or ‘flip-flops’). Girls continuing to wear shoes must wear socks or tights.

Hats, scarves and gloves are optional and it is preferable that they are plain navy or plain black. These should not be worn in lessons. Hair bands should be in either plain navy, red, white or black.

Navy uniform trousers with the school logo are optional in the second half of the Autumn term and during the Spring term. The basic compulsory uniform consists of the kilt, white blouse, and crested jumper with a plain black or navy coat. A navy crested blazer must be worn by Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students.

All uniform items should be named.

Year 7

Physical Education

Our Physical Education uniform consists of a red polo shirt with the school crest. The skirts/shorts are navy. Navy cycle shorts or shorts should be worn for gymnastics and athletics as well as underneath the skirt for games lessons. Girls should also have trainers. They should wear red socks for all games lessons. Tracksuits should be navy, with a minimum of decoration. These can be purchased from any school outfitter

Dance Uniform

Black trousers (no jeans) and black top/T-shirt or PE kit must be worn during all dance lessons. No shoes or socks can be worn. Dance shoes or soft trainers can be worn if students have concerns over bare feet.

PLEASE NOTE: All kit must have a name tag sewn into the label at the back of the item of clothing. Your daughter’s first name in full and the initial of her surname should be embroidered on the outside of the polo shirt and skirt. A named sports bag is also required.

All clothing must be named.

Hair - Long hair is dangerous in practical lessons and must be tied back with a plain navy, red, white or black ribbon or hair band. Sensible hair styles only with no excessive colour.

Jewellery

One plain ring is allowed. Girls who have pierced ears may wear one pair of sleepers or studs. A wristwatch may be worn. A cross and chain or such with religious significance may be worn. Nose studs/rings are not allowed. All jewellery is worn at the owners’ risk.

Make-up

Make-up, if it is worn at all, should be discrete with natural, pale or colourless nail varnish.

Equipment

Girls should have the following in a named pencil case: pen, pencil, rubber, ruler and a selection of coloured pencils

Other Items

Money purse belts are available from National Schoolwear Centres, Bromley. Whilst kilts do have a zip pocket, the money belts are also advisable.

Books should be carried in a strong school bag (not a carrier bag) which can fit A4 sized books.

Lockers

Each student will be allocated a locker measuring 25cm x 25cm x 45cm at the start of each school year. A strong padlock with keys should be brought into school at the start of the term.

Girls not wearing correct uniform will be referred to their Form Tutor who will then send a letter home. Persistent offenders will be referred on by the Form Tutor to the relevant Year Leader who will take appropriate action.

Non uniform items will be confiscated, if appropriate, or girls may be sent home to change, with parental knowledge.
