The Friends of Cator Park Parents' Forum was launched in 2004 by a dedicated and enthusiastic (although small) group of parents. They have made a considerable contribution to our school over the past 4 years by supporting school events and fundraising, and we sincerely thank them for all their hard work.

In November 2008 a new committee of five was elected, comprising a Parent Governor and a member of the school staff.

Our aims are to:

• Support school events
• Fund enrichment to support our school community
• Provide annual/biennial consultation about aspects of the school (in person and via email)

The committee meeting in February 2009 will include: how to involve more parents/carers in the life of the school; help fund African Drums; decide what our priorities are; and how best to fundraise (what the students would like to do!).

We have already been approached by a group of enthusiastic Teaching Assistants keen to support the "Friends" and our students. They are currently organising a lunchtime walking club , a termly lunchtime session of karaoke for students and will co-ordinate a mobile phone recycling scheme to raise money for our school.
