Year 7 and 8 Bromley Schools Athletics Championships
The year 7 and 8 Bromley Schools Athletics Championships took place at Norman park.
All the girls who took part were a credit to the school, so well done.
There were fifteen schools involved.
Our year 8 team came a very impressive 2nd! (1st NW)
Overall our year 7 and 8 combined team came 3rd in Bromley! (1st LP, 2nd NW, 4th BH)
Special Mentions:
- Shannon Stride came first in the discus with a massive throw of 27.4m (a personal best).
- Keeley Knellcame first in the hurdles.
- Sadie Shirley came second in the shot putt.
- Jasmine Johnstone (year 7) came second in the discus with a fantastic throw of 18.05m.
- Megan Butler came third in the long jump.
- Yasmine Chervannes and Shauntrice Davis-Anglin came fourth in the 100m final.
Our junior team are currently the third best school of athletes in Bromley! Well done to all the girls who took part, it was a pleasure to see so much talent and so many achievements.
Good luck to our rounders teams in the Bromley Schools Tournament.
Also good luck to Monique Walcott and Shannon Stride who are both competing for Blackheath and Bromley Harriers in the national competition at Norman park.

Rotary Athletics Championships June 2009
The Year 7, 8, 9 & 10s took part in the Rotary Club London Schools Athletics Championships in which sixteen schools took part.
The overall results were:
Our year 7 and 8 team came 1st in the competition and
our year 9 and 10 team came 2nd
We had some amazing successes, with many students gaining medals for their events..
Outstanding performances were:
Year 7 and 8
- Trae Gray 1t in the 200m
- Janay Branche 1st in the shot putt
- Jasmine Johnstone 1st in the discus
- Shannon Stride 2nd in the discus
- Morgan Kelly 3rd in the discus
(Cator Park got the 1st, 2nd & 3rd for the discus!!) - Shanae Sonson 3rd in the long jump
- Sakeelah Bangura 2nd in the high jump
- Carla Henry 3rd in the high jump and 4th in the 100m final
Year 9 and 10
- Rihanna Amoah Williams 3rd in the100m final and 2nd in the long jump
- Hannah Treherne came 2nd in the high jump
- Cassain Chandler 3rd in the discus
- Ese Akpochimoraa came 2nd in the discus
Both the year 7 and 8 relay team (Carla Henry, Trae Gray, Shauntrease Davis-Anglin and Yasmin Chervannes)
And the year 9 and 10 relay team
(Rihanna Amoah Williams, Cindy Williams, Felicia Ayeni and Vorke Gbeke) came an impressive 2nd.
Well done to all the girls who participated. They were a credit to the school.

Year 9 and 10 Bromley Schools Athletics Championships
The Bromley Schools Year 9 and 10 Athletics Championships took place where there was a junior competition which was for the year 9s and an intermediate competition which was for the year 10 and 11s.
There where ten schools involved, and our junior team, which involved a year 8 student came 3rd!
Special mentions:
- Monique Walcott came first in the shot putt with a fantastic throw of 9m61
- Ella Joseph came first in the javelin with a throw of 17m78.
- Ese Akpochimoraa came 2nd in the discus with a fantastic throw of 22m88
- Shannon Stride has qualified for the championships with a discus throw of 22m
These four students will be representing West Kent in the Kent Championships, taking place soon. - Rihanna Amoah Williams came 2nd in the 100m with a brilliant time of 13.4 secs
- Vorke Gbeke came 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 3m76
- Lauren Greenfield came 3rd in the discus with a throw of 15m26
- Our junior relay team, which involved three year 9s and one year 8 came third with a time of 58.5 seconds.
The team included Rihanna Amoah Williams, Cindy Williams, Donelle Yapp and Carla Henry (year 8).
Our junior team are currently the 3rd best school of athletes in Bromley! Well done to all the girls who took part, it was a pleasure to see so much talent.
