Key Stage 3

Pupils are set at KS3 based on ability. They are in the same set for History, Geography and R.E.

  • RE: - Pupils to follow the Bromley Agreed Syllabus and cover the 6 main world religions.

    • Islamic authority
    • Reincarnation in Hinduism and Death and beyond in religion
    • Buddhist beliefs
     

They begin GCSE Religious Studies in Year 9.

Key Stage 4

The Humanties Faculty offer four subjects at GCSE.

  • RE:  Full course on Religion and Life and Religious and Society for all pupils.
  • History:  Study of Medicine and Nazi Germany. Controlled assessment on local area
  • Geography:  
    1. People and the built environment
    2. People and the natural environment
    3. Global interactions
    Controlled assessment in
    1. Quality of life in local area
    2. Global issue
  • Sociology:  Study of various aspects of society including family, education and crime and defiance.

Key Stage 5

The Humanities Faculty offers 5 AS/A2 level subjects:

  • History
  • Geography
  • Religious Studies:  Philosophy and Ethics
  • Sociology
  • Government and Politics

5 GCSEs A*-C are needed to embark on an advanced course.
