The 'Gifted' comprise students with academic ability in one or more subjects in the statutory school curriculum (other than art, music and PE) and the 'Talented' are those with musical or artistic ability, or ability in sport or any creative art.

We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities that challenge all children including the able. The following specific initiatives provide enrichment for the most able:-

• The Performing Arts Faculty organises various trips and projects for talented students
• The Mathematics Faculty runs a Key Stage 3 club and students participate in the national 'Maths Challenge'.
• The Science Faculty organises visits and has a weekly club for gifted students at KS3.
• The Debating Club is run by the English Faculty.
• The Humanities Faculty has a History Club.
• The Russian Club caters for gifted linguists.
