Cashless System
Our cashless system enables your daughter to pay for school dinners or other associated services without the need for cash and, in the case of students who qualify for free school meals, it means that they will no longer have to queue for their ticket at break.
Each student has been issued with a plastic card (similar in size to a credit card). Year 7s and any other students not currently holding a card, will get theirs after half term, and this card is printed with the school logo, her photograph, student number and is colour coded for her year group. The cash balance is recorded on the card. These cards should be kept safe. Holders and lanyards are sold through the restaurant.
There are different ways to add cash value to the cards, which are as follows:
- 1. By cheque or direct debit through our caterers, Principals Catering. Cheques (made payable to Principals Caterers) may be sent directly to the school or handed in by your daughter at the start of the week. Your daughter's name and tutor group should be written clearly on the reverse, together with a cheque card guarantee number.
- 2. Via wall mounted loaders which will accept cash and notes. These will be located in the dining hall and small hall. Girls will be able to access the machines in the dining hall from 7.30 a.m. onwards each day.
The system is totally secure and cards cannot be erased or copied. If required you can pre-load the card with a week, a month, or a term's worth of money for better budgeting and to ensure adequate funds are always available. If required, the cards can be set up to limit the amount of money available to spend per day and per transaction. You will also be able to request an audit which will show what your daughter has purchased on any day. If your daughter loses or forgets her card, she will be issued with a temporary replacement. However, she will be charged £4 for any subsequent replacements.
